Case Studies
Market Assessment
Objectives:
A Dorset client involved in the provision of capital equipment to the private and public health sector in the UK wanted to assess hospital policy towards a particular testing standard, had they adopted it, the costs of implementing it and whether they were using external contractors.
Methodology
The research was in two phases;
Phase 1:
Hospital interviews with senior engineers using a pilot questionnaire over the telephone and then a quantitative questionnaire for the bulk of interviews around 100 in total.
Phase 2:
Interviews with competitor suppliers and a mystery shopper technique was used to establish their policy towards the service standard and competitor prices.
Findings:
- The research unearthed a great deal of information for our client and a much better understanding of the implementation of the service standard and current practice.
- The client viewed the information extremely valuable and altered their policy as a result in approaching the hospital customers.
